I'm Winston T. Ikeda, but my students affectionately call me Mr. K. With extensive experience in medical imaging, especially ultrasound technology, I'm dedicated to helping you excel. Based in Torrance, California, I've honed my skills over the years, committed to excellence in every role I've undertaken.

My educational journey began with an Echocardiography diploma and an Ultrasound diploma from Atlantis Career College in 2003, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from California State University Dominguez Hills in 1989. Beyond academics, I also hold a Black Belt in Judo.

Over the past 22 years, I've taught in various accredited programs across Los Angeles, focusing on Ultrasound Physics and preparing thousands of students to pass the SPI exam. Proudly referred to as “The KING OF ULTRASOUND PHYSICS,” I've been a full-time Ultrasound Instructor, delivering comprehensive lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction. My passion for education and mentorship has helped shape the next generation of ultrasound professionals.

Hello, I'm Tammy Plourde, and I bring over three decades of experience in Radiology and Diagnostic Medical Sonography to help you succeed in your career. My journey began 31 years ago in Radiologic Technology (X-ray), where I honed a diverse set of skills in various specialties and patient care settings, including emergency/trauma, large hospitals, transplant centers, and physician offices.

With over 24 years as a meticulous and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional and clinical educator, my expertise spans General and Vascular ultrasound, small parts, invasive procedures, and OB/GYN. For the past nine years, I have been an educator and  Clinical Coordinator in a DMS program, with an emphasis on OB/GYN.

Having worked with students as a staff sonographer before becoming an educator, I understand the industry standards and what it takes for students to succeed. My leadership skills, passion for teaching, and commitment to student success have helped countless graduates secure the best post-graduation jobs. I also have experience in curriculum design and assessment.

Hello, I'm Ms. Kimberly Bermudez, an experienced ultrasound professor with a strong background in medical imaging technology and a passion for teaching. Since July 2017, I've been a Lecture/Lab Instructor at Smith Chason College WCUI in Ontario, CA. I aim to define clear learning outcomes and enhance student learning through engaging lectures and hands-on training.

I excel at creating a dynamic learning environment that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills development. My approach is highly student-centered, ensuring every student succeeds. I go above and beyond to provide additional guidance and resources, ensuring you are well-prepared for the state board exams. My personalized teaching approach ensures you receive the attention and support needed to excel.

In addition to teaching, I work as an Ultrasound Tech at Echo Tech Imaging, performing various diagnostic ultrasound exams. My professional journey includes roles such as Clinical Consultant at Avante Health Solutions and Ultrasound Tech at Millennium Imaging Medical Center, where I honed my skills in medical imaging and clinical case analysis.

I hold a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, a Bachelor of Diagnostic Medical Sonography from AdventHealth University, and two Associate degrees in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Platt College and West Coast Ultrasound Institute. I am certified by the ARDMS in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, and RVT, and hold a CCI RVS certification.

Hello, I'm Alex Gelfand, a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in Medical Sonography. With a solid background in diagnostics of abdominal, cardiovascular systems, small parts studies, and Transcranial Doppler (TCD), I have consistently demonstrated precision and expertise in ultrasound technology.

As a leader and educator, I excel in motivating and training students, ensuring they receive top-quality education. With over 15 years as a program director and instructor in a CAAHEP-accredited program and 6 years as a Clinical Coordinator, I possess the knowledge and experience to mentor the new generation of Medical Sonographers. I've helped thousands of students secure jobs and pass the ARDMS exams, providing personalized guidance and support every step of the way.

Before my role as a Program Director, I was a Sonographer at Mediscan/Cross Country Staffing in Woodland Hills, CA, where I supervised, trained, and evaluated staff sonographers, collaborated on ultrasound equipment training, and conducted staff recruiting. I performed diagnostics of abdominal, venous, arterial, and cardiovascular systems and small parts, drafting reports for diagnostic purposes.

Earlier in my career, I worked as a Sonographer at Northridge Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center, conducting various ultrasound diagnoses and Doppler color studies. In 2019, I became a certified Transcranial Doppler (TCD) Ultrasound Specialist, further enhancing my expertise.

  Hello. I’m Firouzeh, but you can call me Fay. With over 20 years of experience as an accomplished Ultrasound Technologist in the international healthcare industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as an instructor. Fluent in Dutch, English, and Farsi (Persian), my exceptional communication skills allow me to engage with diverse patients and students effectively.

I’m dedicated, hardworking, and passionate about creating a stimulating environment for growth and development. My students don’t just learn ultrasound; they love it. I’ve helped thousands of students secure amazing jobs after training with me, and I’m deeply committed to your success.

Professionally, I’ve conducted various ultrasound exams, including abdomen, vascular, pelvic, OB, small parts, and breast scans. I excel in discussing study findings with radiologists, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and delivering high-quality patient care.

As an instructor at multiple schools across Los Angeles and Orange County, I create a welcoming and engaging learning environment. My patience and love for student interactions have helped countless students achieve their career goals in ultrasound.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with esteemed healthcare professionals and institutions, including Dr. Kathy Karamlou (Rheumatologist, MSK), Dr. James Yang, and Dr. Frances Chang (OB&GYN).

Beyond my clinical and educational roles, I’m deeply involved in community service. As an Elderly Counselor at the Community Utrecht Center in the Netherlands, I led a volunteer system to support elderly individuals in need.

I’m also affiliated with respected organizations like the American Heart Association and the Dutch Nursing Association, demonstrating my commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.
